New children's book encourages positive attitudes
The Student Councilor by Mamta Reid offers insight on making decisions and having the right attitude
TOKYO (MMD Newswire) November 15, 2010 -- The Student Councilor by
Mamta Reid follows the story of a five-year-old boy as he experiences
major disappointment for the first time and learns how to deal with
negative feelings.
Lecham is a very bright boy attending an international school in the fictional country of Napaj. He has high hopes to be voted the student councilor of his class, and is devastated when he loses the election. The Student Councilor intends to offer children guidance on how to handle rejection and make the choice to maintain a positive attitude.
In the face of disappointment, Lecham turns to his mother who teaches
him the intended message of The Student Councilor-that life is full of
disappointments but everyone can make the choice to react positively and
move forward. Reid intends for her book to show children that everyone
experiences different emotions everyday and keeping a positive attitude
will help get through the tough times. The Student Councilor is
meant for children four and older and hopes to spark dialogue between
children and adults on the concept of choice and attitude.
"I want whoever reads The Student Councilor to come away
knowing that in every situation they have a choice on how to react. No
one can make you do anything you don't want to and no one can make you
feel terrible if you make the choice not to!" says Reid.
The Student Councilor is available online at Amazon.com and other channels.
